Desirée Mays will look back with anecdotes and tales from her twenty five-year association with the Santa Fe Opera and the Santa Fe Opera Guild, and look forward to the 2025 Santa Fe Opera season featuring the sublime Die Walküre. The work is the third opera by composer Richard Wagner performed at SFO since 2022. The opera explores Wagner's take on love, marriage, extracurricular affairs, children, and the parenting of eight Valkyrie daughters, culminating in Wotan's Olympian rage at his most-loved daughter, Brünnhilde. Sound like a Greek drama? It is!
