The Wagner Society of Santa Fe invites you to attend “Silenced Voices: Women Composers of the Holocaust”

This is the second in the Entartete Musik (degenerate music) concert series, inaugurated in 2019 to highlight vocal and instrumental music written by composers whose lives and careers were damaged or destroyed during the Third Reich.  Many of their works have been lost or forgotten.:

Carol Anderson, pianist

Katharine Goeldner, mezzo soprano

James Holland, cellist

Song cycle by Ruth Schönthal (1924–2006)

Cello and piano duet and song cycle by Vítězslava Kaprálová (1915–1940)

Cello and piano duet by Henriëtte Bosmans (1895–1952)

Selections from song cycle Ich wandre durch Theresienstadt (I Wander Through Theresienstadt) by Ilse Weber (1903–1944)

Piano solo by Ilse Fromm-Michaels (1888–1986)

Songs by Anita Lelewer (1915–2012) — by special permission from her son

Free admission; donations welcome.  Doors open at 5:15 p.m. for general seating.

The recital will be videotaped for release on the Wagner Society of Santa Fe YouTube channel.  By attending, you are giving us permission to use your image at our discretion in the video.
